MY PROCESSES

What is the first step?

…the first step is to schedule a consultation. For weddings and other events, I suggest you schedule a consultation at least 9-12 months prior to the event date.  I have worked under tighter timelines however, that is not my ideal. I prefer to chat with you about your event well in advance — this ensures the date is available; flowers can be ordered in a timely manner; and the quality of my work is maintained.  For Friday, Saturday or Sunday event dates between May & September, I  recommend as much lead time as possible (those months book quickly as they are considered ‘peak season’).

What should you expect during a consultation?

….we will chat about the season and some of the generalities for your event.  I’ll listen.  I’ll make notes.  We’ll chat some more.  The consultation is structured to give me a profile of the vision you have for your wedding or event.  The more information you provide, the clearer that vision becomes and the better able I am to provide you with a floral design plan that fits your vision.  With enough information, I can provide on-the-spot base pricing for your event.

Will you receive a proposal?

…typically, I do not provide a formal proposal. Following the consultation, I provide a bullet point summary of our consultation.  The summary includes notes about your vision, the season, venue and your budget.  If you agree with the summary, I forward an estimate listing the pricing for the various floral elements. If you agree to the terms listed on the Estimate, you can simply sign and return it with the non-refundable booking fee. Should you require a more formal written proposal, I can provide one within 5 business days.

What is the next step?

….the estimate and written proposal are valid for 5-business days. If you would like to book my services, simply sign and return it with the designated booking fee.

What happens after you book?

….every wedding and event is different; some require a series of meetings to ensure your booking is progressing the way we both expect it to progress.  At the very least, I will schedule a site visit and a final meeting with you to review the finer details.  Having said that, I’m always available to answer questions or chat about things.

Am I available to coordinate your event day?

….while I am often involved in lots of little details for your event, I know I am at my best working on the floral elements for your wedding or event.  I’ve worked with a variety of wedding and event coordinators who are very good at their jobs and I’m happy to help you find someone right for you.
