WEDDINGS
I realize you may not have ever planned a wedding — never thought about color palettes, design styles or know anything about flowers!!
You may not have thought about any of those things but the flowers, the colors, the textures, the design style are the subtle (or not so subtle) things that make your wedding day magical and uniquely yours.
Those things ….. the flowers, colors, design styles are my areas of expertise.
My floral work is customized to fit the vision and feel you have for your wedding day.
From our initial consultation, I’ll ask a zillion questions so I’m sure I understand your vision. It’s important to me to get your day ‘right’ — to help you bring your vision to life!
Let’s get started!!
Consultations are by appointment.
The first step is to complete the Wedding Query Form (CREATE BUTTON). You may not yet know the answers to some of the questions — that’s ok. I don’t expect you to have all of the answers.
The information you provide will start our conversation.
What should you expect next?
I make every effort to respond to a Wedding Query within 24-hours. I’ll send you an email confirming my availability on your wedding date. My email will include information about scheduling an initial phone consultation.
What is the Phone Consultation all about?
I block out an hour for the initial phone consultation. We will chat about the floral elements for your wedding, the venue, the time of year, color palettes, the overall vision and feeling you want for your special day.
Of course, we will chat about flowers and design styles so you have an understanding of how design style evokes a certain feeling.
We’ll talk about where you are in the wedding planning process. If you need it, I can help you with resources and referrals.
I’ll answer any questions you have and we will chat a bit about the steps to booking D. McGee Design Studio for your wedding day.
How do you book D. McGee Design Studio?
Following the phone consultation and, if you decide to move forward, I will send you the Event Contract and a Preliminary Proposal for your consideration.
As planning your wedding progresses, changes can be made. The Preliminary Proposal will list the floral elements, with cost, so you have a clear idea of how it all fits in your wedding budget.
The Proposal will include a booking deadline. The deadline will be five business days from the day the Proposal is sent to you. I cannot hold your wedding date on my calendar for longer than five business days. To book your wedding date, you will need to sign and return the Event Contract and the Preliminary Proposal along with the deposit before the booking deadline.
What happens after you book?
Once I receive the signed documents and your deposit, I will send you a confirmation and an acknowledgement of any changes you may have requested on the Preliminary Proposal. Please note, changes may alter the pricing; adjusted pricing will require your initials.
Then What Happens?
Weddings are very personal. They are all different. We both want your wedding day to be everything you envision. We will agree on a level of interaction that makes us both comfortable and insures things move along as we both need them too.
I am always available to answer questions. I encourage my clients to email or give me a call if you have questions or just need to chat about it all. As you move through all of the steps for planning your wedding, you will find it can be overwhelming — I’m happy to chat with you to make it less overwhelming.
That all being said, at a minimum, I will reach out 3 months prior to your wedding date to touch base and ask if anything has changed. I will reach out again at 4 weeks from your wedding date to advise you what has been ordered and received and, to get a final guest count.
A Word About Changes
I am always happy to chat with you about a change you would like to make — it’s part of the process. Most times, I can make the change right up until 4 weeks from your wedding date. Beyond 4 weeks, I cannot guarantee I can make a change that late in the process. Please note, the change you request may alter the final cost.
Am I available to coordinate your event day?
I am often involved in lots of little details for your wedding but, on your actual wedding day my job is to focus on your wedding florals. I’ve worked with several wedding and event coordinators who are very good at their jobs and I’m happy to help you find someone right for you.
